Who’s Hot, Who’s Not? Defenders.
Today I’ll give my opinion on the defenders who have been called up by Leo in the last half a year or so. When you go through this analysis you’ll realize how huge problems we have in this department. It’s not only the usual left back position, but with the injury of Marcin Wasilewski and the unavoidable retirement of Michal Zewlakow we’re left stranded on other positions as well. If the saying that you start building the team from the back is correct then we’re left with a lot of construction work to do. Read the rest of this entry »

Who’s Hot, Who’s Not? Goalkeepers.
Which players should the next coach keep? Which players we can count on with Euro 2012 in perspective? Who should we dispose of? These are the questions that the Polish fans have been asking themselves for the last week. We’re not building a team for the remaining qualifiers, 2010 or 2011. We need a team for 2012. Who’s up to ... [read]

Leo Beenhakker: The Roundup.
I think the time has come to judge Leo Beenhakker’s career as the coach of the Polish national team. I wrote some time earlier that I would refrain from doing that until the qualifiers are over. Well, they’re over for us now and Leo is gone. What will we remember him for? (more…)

Slovenia-Poland 3:0…
I had a plethora of titles for this post on my mind yesterday: “F..ing disgrace”, “Shameless”, “Humiliation” etc. However, after a good night rest I decided not to lose any more sleep over the yesterday’s game, I lost enough yesterday in the pub (first anger, then plain resignation). There is nothing to analyze to be honest, we’ll never again play ... [read]
Slovenia-Poland Preview. Fighting For Our Lives…Again.
Remember the fake trailers from the movie Tropic Thunder? Scorcher I, II, III, IV etc. saves the world once again, again and again. This is the scenario for the Polish national team as well. The first part against San Marino was a piece of cake, but we stumbled as early as in the sequel against Northern Ireland. Now we need ... [read]
Poland-Northern Ireland 1:1. Goodbye To Africa?
It’s always hard to write anything after a game like that, especially that I still feel the hangover caused by it. I’ll be honest with you, of course I’m not jumping with joy, but at the same time I’m not so enraged or ashamed as after the game in Belfast. The Czech Republic game aside, we’ve been playing horribly for ... [read]
Poland-Northern Ireland Preview. Fighting For Our Lives.
The first of four “games of the year” awaits us on Saturday. The first of four must-win games. The rematch for the Belfast catastrophe earlier this year. Ladies and gentleman, welcome back to World Cup qualifiers. (more…)

Squad Watch: Week 3. Wasyl’s Career Broken?
From all the players he was the last one I ever expected to experience something like that. Marcin Wasilewski, the toughest player in our national team, sufferred an open fracture in yesterday’s game against Standard Liege. He’s definitely injured for the whole season and out of our remaining World Cup qualifiers. His whole professional career is under threat as well. ... [read]
Poland Out Of European Club Competition.
In the times when Debrecen and Apoel Nicosia reach the group stage of the Champions League Poland has no clubs left in the European competition as early as August. Lech Poznan was eliminated yesterday from the European League by FC Brugge on penalties. The Bialo Czerwoni becomes the only team that represents us in international competition. (more…)
