Who Is Leo’s Mystery New Striker (Poll)?
At last, in today’s Gazeta Wyborcza I read the first decent interview with Leo after our Euro failure. A lot of usual grumbling about the poor state of Polish football and lack of necessary infrastructure (we don’t have a place to train in Warsaw, we’ll have to play in Wroclaw, where there is only 9500 [...]
Hallelujah! Adam Kokoszka May Actually Sign A Contract With Empoli. Plus Kuba’s Goal Against Bayern.
According to Gazeta Wyborcza and Italian journalists Adam Kokoszka may sign a contract with Empoli next week. This would be great news as one of the most talented Polish defenders would finally find a place to play and improve.
Our ‘Beloved’ Polish League Starts This Weekend. My Predictions And Ones To Watch.
It’s hard to get excited about the Polish league. First of all, we experienced numerous corruption scandals in the last couple of seasons. A lot of clubs were relegated, other unprepared ones were promoted. The level of the league, as proven by European competition, is also quite low. However, it still remains the only place [...]
Our U-19 Team Is From Abroad.
One interesting thing I observed when checking last call ups to the U-19 squad. It turns out that 9 out of 13 players play abroad. The squad, of course, will be later supplemented with guys from Poland, but nevertheless the number of ’stranieri’ is quite impressive.
Leo’s List Of Polish League Talents Leaked Out.
Today’s Przeglad Sportowy published an interesting list of players who are to be watched in the first rounds of the Polish league by Leo and his assistants. They are to be called up for a special training camp in Wronki in the beginning of August. I don’t know if it’s only a result of journalists’ [...]
Better Late Than Never: A Video Of Piszczek’s Uefa Cup Hattrick.
Not the most spectacular goals from Lukasz, but still an impressive display especially that he played in midfield. We’re waiting for more of the same in Bundesliga.
Friendly: FC Liverpool-Wisla Krakow 1:1.
After an average game Wisla Krakow drew with FC Liverpool 1:1. Wisla played with their strongest possible squad and did quite well in the first half. Unfortunately, the second half was much worse as the Reds decided to employ a more determined pressing.
Uefa Cup Latest: Khazar Lenkoran-Lech Poznan 0:1, Legia Warsaw-Gomel 0:0.
At first, I’d like to state that I’m not watching Polish clubs in European competition because it gives me pleasure. On contrary, it is a very painful experience. So why the hell do I care to devote my time to our ’stars’ competing with mighty teams from Azerbaijan or Belarus? It’s because I want to [...]
Toulouse Loses Patience With Smolarek. Plus A Poll Regarding Ebi’s Situation.
As expected, Toulouse couldn’t wait any longer and officially resigned from acquaring Ebi Smolarek from Racing Santander. The Polish striker is very reluctant to leave Primera Division and didn’t want to move to a inferior club. As a result, Toulouse will have to spend the money they got for Johan Elmander elsewhere. What does it [...]
Lewandowski Agrees To A Life Sentence In Donetsk. Bak Officially Retires.
Two pieces of news dominated Tuesday from a point of view of a Polish national team fan. Mariusz Lewandowski ended speculation about his soon to be realised transfer by stating that he’ll stay at Shakhtar. This day also marks an official international retirement of Jacek Bak, one of the best Polish players of the last [...]
