The squad for the USA game: final cut.
The initial squad for the USA friendly that contained thirty players was reduced by Leo Beenhakker to twenty two. Consequently, Dawid Janczyk won’t get a chance to earn his first full cap for Poland.
First of all, three players were ruled out by an injury. Jakub Blaszczykowski and Adam Kokoszka have been injured for some time now. There are very close to making a comeback but nobody wants to risk their health and it’s better for them to rest a few more weeks. Rafal Murawski was injured in the last week’s Lech game against Wisla Cracow and he also won’t be able to answer Leo’s call up. Two players were relegated to the youth squad: Dawid Janczyk and Radoslaw Majewski. Our U21 is playing against England on Tuesday and both players will be given an opportunity to impress Leo in this tough encounter. It’s a good decision by our coach, neither Janczyk nor Majewski would get more than 10-15 minutes in the USA friendly. However, Janczyk may feel disappointed as it’s his second call up to the Polish squad and for the second time he won’t be able to make his debut. Three players were named as backups: Jakub Wawrzyniak, Marcin Kus and Tomasz Zahorski. Leo has observed them closely in the recent friendlies and decided to give others the chance to impress. At the same time, it doesn’t necessary diminish their chances of earning the ticket for the Euro. In the last interview Leo confirmed that all good players with the Polish passport are still considered as candidates for the Euro squad. Good, it’ll keep all the players concentrated and motivated. It’s time to get equal with the Americans for our last two friendly losses. Can’t wait for the game.

Cant wait for the game either. The U-21 fixture with England also has gotten more interesting with Janczyk.Your site is a huge asset to fans of Poland.Keep up the awesome work.Much appreciated.

good post again tomasz, i have no complaints about the squad. the youngsters being sent for the u21s was the right choice. puzzled that grosicki didnt even get a callup to the u21s though. also i was surprised that leo chose piszczek over zahorski who he talks about so fondly all the time.

I was also surprised that Grosicki wasn’t included in the initial squad. He is still not playing regularly at FC Sion; I think that Leo just want to give him time to settle there. As for Zahorski; in the recent interview in Polska Leo said that he spoke to him and explained that this time he wants to have a closer look at Piszczek. I was rather disappointed by Piszczek’s performance against the Foreign Stars, he won’t make any progress by sitting on Hertha’s bench. And I rated him very highly when he was at Zaglebie and our youth sides. Anyone knows if the U21 game will be broadcasted anywhere?

for the u21, Fox Soccer Channel is suppose to have it.
but if you are in Poland i am not sure if you will have that channel. Normally a Polish channel carries the u21 games usually, but i am not sure this time around.
if worse comes to worse use: http://www3.myp2p.eu/competition.php?&competitionid=&part=sports&discipline=football&allowedDays=2,3,4,5,6
should be a link close to game time….not sure which program its going to be available in but you can always download the necessary software on the site.

Thanks deyna. If it’s on Fox Soccer Channel I should be able to watch it. I can’t see any Polish station showing it.

The United States National Team has been on the upswing the and are a very talented and difficult squad to beat as you can tell by looking at their results in the last decade.Looking forward to see how both teams look. Both teams seem to have very strong squds for this fixture.
