Summary: I sat comfortably in front of the TV this weekend to watch the game between FC Moscow and Rubin Kazan. I rarely watch the Russian League, but I read on some webpage that Rafal Murawski was to finally debut for the Russian champions. Unfortunately, he wasn’t even on the bench so I quickly switched the channel to a different game. I find this situation a bit alarming. Murawski is an experienced player and I don’t understand why he has to wait so long to enter the pitch. I haven’t heard anything about him being injured or not physically ready to play in Russia. After all, Lech players look really fresh; Muras started the season preparations with them and should, more or less, be on the same terms as far as fitness is concerned. Rubin paid for him more than 2M, though rich I don’t think they spent this amount of money on a player who they don’t rate good enough to make the bench. This whole case is really mysterious for me, I hope to hear something from Muras himself once he comes to Poland for the national team game. This situation is not really comfortable for Leo and the Bialo Czerwoni as well. As I wrote sometime earlier, Murawski is a crucial player for us as he’s the link between offense and defence in our strategy. What if he’s not ready? Well…the name Obraniak once again comes to mind. The Lille midfielder can cover all the positions in midfield; he can play in the centre behind the striker but also a bit deeper, near the defensive midfielder. He can be the answer to our problems if Murawski’s situation doesn’t improve. It’s only a shame he can’t answer them all.
Grzegorz Krychowiak replaced the injured Bartosz Bosacki in the squad for the Greece game. It’s a huge surprise that a Bordeaux reserves player makes the final cut in what is our strongest possible lineup. Leo claims that he’s got his sources at Bordeaux and they’re really praising Krychowiak. I still find it a bit discomforting, especially for players like Glik, Peszko, Malecki or Grosicki who are putting good performances week in week out on top division level. Fortunately, this situation may be solved sooner than later as Arka made an official offer to bring Krychowiak to Gdynia. I support it one hundred percent, at this time it’s crucial for our youngster to play as much as possible. Plus we’ll be able to judge first handedly if the so much heard about potential is really there.
Some good games in the Ekstraklasa this weekend. Wisla Krakow looked really impressive against Zaglebie Lubin, while Lech Poznan demolished Korona in Kielce. It seems that it was Maciej Skorza’s plan to prepare the form peek for the middle of August and the final round of CL qualifiers. Hence, Wisla competed against Levadia in the middle of heavy training. Shame it didn’t work out, but believe me, it’s a pleasure to watch the Polish chamions at the moment. Patryk Malecki looks most impressive, he’s really making incredible progress with each single game. Pawel Brozek and even Wojciech Lobodzinski are coming back to form; I haven’t seen Lobo as good for over a year now. Lech Poznan also deserves praise. All the national team players (Lewandowski, Bandrowski, Peszko, Wilk) looked great and really confident against Korona Kielce. The young Lewy is openly attacking Brozek’s position in the national team, just look at his finish for the fourth Lech goal. I also finally got to see Seweryn Gancarczyk play. He’s good one on one, can cross the ball well, though he’s having some problems with proper positioning. A national team material, but not a player who can improve our team significantly.
Hannover 96 scouts observed Pawel Brozek in the game against Zaglebie Lubin. They’re to watch him once again against Greece on Wednesday and make an offer of around 2,5M provided Broziu is interested.
No better proof that Tomasz Kuszczak is currently ManUtd’s nr 3 than seeing him on the bench in the Community Shield game. Ben Foster is no great goalie, which he proved in the game, but he’s an Englishmen and will always be higher in the pecking order than Kuszczak. Unfortunately, it seems that Kuszczak doesn’t understand that and got lost in pursuing his dream to become United’s nr 1.
Marek Saganowski is not moving anywhere. Southampton has got a new owner and more money so they can afford to keep Sagan. We’ll have to watch our international in League One.
Highlights: Two goals from Malecki and two assists from Pawel Brozek
Two goals from Robert Lewandowski, one from Peszko and one from Wilk in the game against Korona
A goal from Piotr Polczak here
Grosicki’s assist here
I couldn’t find Bartosz Salamon’s goal, hope it will resurface in a couple of days.

I had the chance to see Real Madrid play in Toronto over the weekend, and Dudek kept goal in the second half. I know he isn’t in the national team, and is therefore not really significant to these discussions, but nonetheless it was fun to see him play. And to think, the money he’s making warming the bench. Good for him. Also, watched Koln and Dortmund play. Kuba looks red hot. Even the Dortmund fans I speak with were impressed. Great pace, great ball control, alternates between defense and offense. Sharp crosses. He’s just a pleasure to watch.

Nice goal from Salamon but did anyone catch that brain cramp earlier in the video? He will never be able to play seria A ball makes those kinds of plays.

Thanks for the video Adam.I finally found an article that rather solves the Murawski riddle. It seems he hasn’t been officially allowed to play in Russia till today. Some stupid rules and paperwork. He’ll play with nr 42 on his back http://reprezentacja.com.pl/index.php?plik=wstawki/news_caly&numer=92695&kat=2&nazwa=Murawski+wreszcie+b%EAdzie+m%F3g%B3+zagra%E6%21

I can see that the video from Lech’s game stopped working. It’s like with Premiership nowadays, you can’t post the goals online. You have no other choice but to watch the goals on Ekstraklasa tv.

Very good point about Murawski. It’s bad news for the national team when such a key player is absent even from even the bench at club level. Can’t help but feel this is a pretty low time in terms of interest in Polish players abroad. With news that Smolarek is out the door at Santander, and national team players (albeit average ones) like Saganowski struggling for a place in an English 3rd division side, there’s not too much out there for Leo to be positive about.
I still hope Blaszczykowski can stay injury free this year at Dortmund, he remains the one potential genuine star.
Despite the critiscism he seems to get these days, I still thing Jacek Krzynowek is the only Pole to really succeed in a decent league over the last 7 or 8 years.

I’ve been saying this for years. Poles go where your going to play, not where you think your going to play. ITs not like the Russians would have anything agaisnt him they want to win to. Lets be honest though for him not to make the pitch he most not have shown in practice that he has the pace or the ability to compete. I hope thats not the chase, but sure looks that way.

Blaszczykowski is not our only star, Jelen is considered one of the best strikers in the French league (among strikers he was ranked 4th by a popular French magazine) and now we also have Obraniak.
Robert Lewandowski also has the potential to be a star, there’s also Bartosz Salamon who the Italian media believes has a very bright future, and Bordeaux fans who’ve seen Krychowiak say he’s a huge talent and will certainly be one of their stars in the future, although this season he’s unlikely to get playing time. He should definitely accept Arka’s offer to take him on loan. Anyway, we just have to be patient, we do have some very talented youth in the pipeline.

So what’s going to happen with Smolarek? Last rumour I heard was that he could end up at Lech Poznan. I like the move for Lech and Ebi.
Has anyone heard new anything about Laurent Koscielny. FC Lorient is playing Ligue One this year. This past weekend I watched him play against Lille and Obraniak.
On an unrelated note, scroll down to post #493 and see how Szakhtar does it. http://db5.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=693008&page=25
Stephen Appiah at Wisla? That would be crazy. He’s the captain for the Ghana national team. http://gbcghana.com/news/27291detail.html

Shame for Ebi, he’s had to travel far too often. The Satander move had so much potential two years ago. I still can’t figure out why he can’t settle in anywhere. A move to Lech would be great for playing time and keeping his skill up but its not like he’ll have a great learning experience from it. If he’s reached his peak though, then maybe first team play at Lech is much better than ending up in the stands again at some bigger club.

Hey Guys if you’re all interested i have set up a mini league for us poland fans at http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ you need to create a fantasy team and enter them in the mini league- the code to join this mini league is:

Kuszczak is way better than Foster
Foster is crap, the only reason he got start in community shield is because he’s english and ferguson is biased

Kuszczak is in the same situation as Foster. Both have played sparingly and both have had games where they looked inconsistent. You can’t blame Fergie for favouring Foster because he is a candidate for the England number one. However, I doubt that will happen since England has a number of keepers better than Foster. I believe Foster got hurt last game so Kuszczak will get to play anyway. No matter how long Foster will be out, I do believe that Fergie will go out and get a replacement for VanDerSar in the near future. Kuszczak and Foster most likely don’t fit into Fergie’s plans.

You may be right a; as much as Kuszczak believes he’s good enough to be United’s number 1 I think sir Alex is happy with him as a backup goalie. Both Foster and Kuszczak don’t seem qualified to fill van der Sar’s boots.

I know it has no relevance to the NT whatsoever, but Stephen Appiah on Wisla would be awesome! Too bad they’re out of European competition. I would love to watch him play for them.

Murawski played for a young team of Rubin Kazan the day before, so he was sitting on a tribune with some teammates. He has to be in good shape and to perfect tactical skills. Soon he’ll play, but he has serious competitor – McBet Sibaya (RSA).

не парьтесь- появится!:)))
