Seven more Poles in Britain
Almost every day you can hear of a player of national Poland team, moving to English or Scotish leagues. I don’t even mention two most spectacular transfers of players as Maciej Żurawski (previously Wisła Kraków) and Artur Boruc (Legia Warszawa) to Celtic Glasgow because it occured almost half a year ago.
I mean here two last weeks, when some British teams made up their minds to hire or consider hiring Polish players.
Wheras Wisła’s Marcin Baszczyński is close to join the Hammers, today early in the morning spokesperson of Bayer Leverkusen announced that FC Portsmouth is keen on Bayer’s left-wing midfielder Jacek Krzynówek who after knee injury hasn’t regain his place in first Bayer’s squad.
Also two other German clubs would like to have Jacek onboard: HSV and K’Lautern with Wolfgand Wolf, former Krzynówek’s trainer in FC Nurnberg.
Anyway, it seems that our key left winger is about to brush up his form prior to the BIG EVENT which is the best information for Paweł Janas, trainer of national team. If hired by Pompey, Krzynówek will have chance to train with another Nigerian born Pole, Emmanuel “Oli” Olisadebe–top goalscorer of World Cup Qualification 2002 that joined FC Portsmouth from Panathinaikos Athens a week ago.
Additionally Milan Mandaric, FC Portsmouth’s owner, announced that he wants strengten his squad by purchasing Jerzy Dudek from the Reds that may help his team to avoid relegation.
What will be Rafa’s decision in this case?
Finally, last but not least (however small Pole) – top goalscorer in last qualifications- Tomasz “Franek” Frankowski moves from Spanish Elche to Glen Hoddle’s Wolverhampton in Championship. The guy has stricker’s instinct that may lead Wolves to Premiership.
To cut the story short, these seven guys have already joined or will hopefully join almost 200 thousand of their fellow countrymen that have arrived to the Great Britain for a year.
