Poland’s Squad Numbers Allocated.
Squad numbers were announced today after confirmation of our final Euro squad. Roger gets nr 20, Smolarek nr 7 and Zurawski will play with nr 9.
Here is a full list:
Goalkeepers:
1. Artur Boruc (Celtic Glasgow)
22. Lukasz Fabianski (Arsenal London)
12.Tomasz Kuszczak (Manchester United)
Defenders:
6. Jacek Bak (Austria Venna)
4. Paweł Golanski (Steaua Bucharest)
2. Mariusz Jop (FC Moscow)
23. Adam Kokoszka (Wisla Krakow)
13. Marcin Wasilewski (Anderlecht Brussels)
3. Jakub Wawrzyniak (Legia Warsaw)
14. Michal Zewlakow (Olympiakos Pireus)
Midfielders:
16. Jakub Blaszczykowski (Borussia Dortmund)
5. Dariusz Dudka (Wisla Krakow)
10. Lukasz Gargula (GKS Belchatow)
20. Roger Guerreiro (Legia Warsaw)
8. Jacek Krzynowek (VfL Wolfsburg)
18. Mariusz Lewandowski (Schahtar Donetsk)
17. Wojciech Lobodzinski (Wisla Krakow)
19. Rafal Murawski (Lech Poznan)
15. Michal Pazdan (Gornik Zabrze)
Strikers:
11. Marek Saganowski (Southampton)
7. Euzebiusz Smolarek (Racing Santander)
21. Tomasz Zahorski (Gornik Zabrze)
9. Maciej Zurawski (AE Larisa)
Roger will play with ‘Guerreiro’ on his back. Lukasz Gargula decided to take the dreaded nr 10, a bold move from the Belchatow playmaker. Polish players don’t want to wear nr 10 after Mariusz Lewandowski who wore it in our 2002’s defeat to Latvia was made fun of by the press because of that. Zuraw chose nr 9, a one that brought him luck in Wisla’s colours. My favourite nr 13 belongs to Marcin Wasilewski.

Hey tomasz, I wasn’t sure where to post this. But I was wondering if you’ve seen this terrible German commercial:

ha ha, and we’re going to steal them 3pts as well!
I’m a bit worried about this nr 13 for Wasyl.
he has some potential for bad luck.

The Germans showed themselves as idiots who drink and drive, great. Gregorio, don’t bring Sobol out of the closet.

sobol himself didn’t want to bring himself out of the closet, that’s why he resigned from NT. how about that?
here’s my idea of how polish fans should welcome the germans before the game: piss off!

Not only are the Germans from the commercial drunkards but they’re also stupid enough to stop in the middle of a road. Here’s our answer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGQZCbnvgro

The Danes managed to hold the Dutch to a 1-1, so i reckon if we manage to do better we’re in good shape. Two day wait, sigh.

what is your opinion on Poland use of Roger Guerreiro and Jacek Bąk comments; “If he feels Polish, if his heart beats when he listens to our national anthem, if he gives his all on the pitch, it could work. If not, there will be a problem.”
Looking forward to the match on the 12th against Austria

I agree with Bąk 100%. Roger must feel and act like a part of the team. The minute he starts acting like a star (which he is not compared to Bak who has 95 caps to his name)the team will turn against him. But it would be a case with any new player, not only Roger. Bak is very friendly towards him, he said in one of the interviews that he lives in a room next to Roger and offered his help to him when need arises. The lads also came up with a nickname Jasiu Rogerski which also shows the he’s integrated with the team. As for Austria, I hope you’ll at leasr draw with the Croats, this would make the group really interesting. Host nation, first game, you’re capable of it.
