Poland-FC Schaffhausen 1:0. A Beautiful Day For A Picnic.
Just a couple of quick thoughts from me after our first friendly during the training camp. We defeated Swiss second division team FC Schaffhausen after Jacek Krzynowek’s goal in 73rd minute. To be honest, the game was painful to watch.
Picnic. That’s the first word that comes to my mind after watching the game. Picnic, just without the pleasure part. There was no pace, no change of tempo and no will to impress in our performance today. The players were slow, unorganized and lacked concentration. At least we know that they’re given hard time in training since some of them looked really exhausted. Leo was happy after the game, I just hope he knows more than us and that we just couldn’t have played better at this stage of preparation. For me, none of the players whose inclusion in the final squad is under threat won the ticket to Swissaustria. At the same time, none of the players lost a chance to play in the tournament of their lifetime. It was just such a mediocre game that it’s hard to draw any conclusions. I think it’s no use to severely criticise the lads at the beginning of preparations but some deserve to be shaken up a bit. Tomorrow I’ll write more about how particular players performed but for now I have to leave you with a dry scoreline. I, of course, welcome any comments from those who managed to watch the game.
I know i’m beginning to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but, it is safe to assume that three other coaches were keen on watching that match, and drawing their own conclusions, and perhaps Leo didn’t mind under performing? Maybe it was some sort of tactical ploy? I suppose the game on the 8th will tell the true tale.
tbh, I think they’ll be more keen on watching the Macedonia, Albania and Denmark games. And the underperforming-in-friendlies-so-our-group-opponents-think-we-suck ploy is something Janosik might have come up with… no chance in hell Leo would do that
we have too much work to do to be fooling around like that. It was a training game, nothing more to read from it than that, IMHO.

I didn’t get a chance to watch the game (luckily, you could say) but the first and only word that should describe this game is: TRENING.
Leo and the lads approached this game as a training match, plain & simple. It’s as if an intrasquad game was televised. Let’s be realistic here — Leo is not going to scratch anyone off his list based on a game vs. FC Schaffhausen.
That said, I am still a tad disappointed to hear they somewhat “stunk it up.”
til monday…
