Lithuania 1, Poland 0

Right, then.

What are we to make of this? This, this 1-0 defeat at the hands of #99?

Should we panic in fear that these are Team Polska’s true colors? (Don’t i have them in the final four?)

Should we laugh it off by saying no one told the Lithuanians this wasn’t basketball?

Should we ignore it, like much of English-language media?

Should we write it off to the team composed of mostly second-stringers on the pitch?

Should we begin hyping up the unstoppable Andrius Gedgaudas (you can help wikipedia by expanding his stub!), who scored in the 14th minute, as the next Maradona?

No, how about this: We blame it on Dudek.

I’m getting on Jan Tomaszewski’s bandwagon here and request that Dudek “be a man” and “give up all thought of being on the national squad.”

And what is Dudek thinking today?

Dudek is probably thinking he’ll get a nice view of the World Cup from the bench. Given Poland’s defensive problems, that might be the safest place for a keeper to be this year.

Why does Janas insist on playing Dudek, even in these (supposedly???) easy, meaningless games? I think he should be starting Boruc or better yet Fabianski so they get more practice and get used to the other guys on the team. As far as not having his ‘best guys’, I think that’s a poor excuse. LITHUANIA, people! Discraceful showing…I predict an early exit for the Biało-Czerwoni.

zurawski - dudek - boruc - krzynowek - smolarek is enough to get out of the group. You Poles are such pessimists!!!

Poland didn’t play with a full squad against Lithuania, if they get creamed by Croatia in Junes friendly then we’ll have reason to worry.
