I’m impressed by the fans of Lech Poznan and the 6-0 win over Grasshoppers. It’s definitely a team to take account with. Good luck in the Uefa Cup and have faith.

I think the performance was very good for a Polish team, especially a one that isn’t a Polish champion. At the same time, I haven’t watched any replays so my judgement may be blurred by enthusiastic Lech fans that sat around me and, well, some small amounts of alcohol (you realise that it was the day’s second game and it consisted an overtime, how many beers can that be?;)). Let’s wait for the group stage to make futher judgements.

I didn’t want to make a scapegoat out of Glowacki, but it just becomes annoying with him so often failing to perform in the most serious games. You’re right, I forgot about Franz who once again created a character driven team.

Yeah, nobody will sack Skorza after this European campaign, but as you’ve written they had a chance to finish the Spurs off. Shame they didn’t do it. Wisla must always expect to draw tough opponents, it’s just how their UEFA coefficients look. As for Lech’s draw; they’ll be dangerous at home but may have huge problems away.

I think everything nearly seems to be going Lech’s way this year. Although I feel they are slightly stronger and play more beautifully than Wisla. Wisla were fucked in almost every aspect of the draws this year. Beitar was one hell of a tough draw for a 2nd round qualifying round, then Barcelona (one of the top 5 clubs in the world) in the 3rd qualifying round, then fall into Uefa Cup figuring they could sneak into the group stage but draw a struggling but big Premiership side in Tottenham. Lech has the players and the ability, and the draws seem to be at the least a bit favorable. It was a great draw getting Nancy at home, CSKA would be rather difficult so them being away isn’t that bad, then it’d be nice to have Feyenoord or Deportivo at home, and they did indeed get Deportivo at home. although they are slightly struggling in the league, they are still a rather good Spanish side that shouldn’t be overlooked. the Feyenoord match away will be difficult, but regardless Lech actually have a decent chance of advancing in this group. all they need is 3rd out of 5 sides. there were definitely some tougher groups out there. yet again Lech dodged a bullet, good for them. if only Wisla were able to get that luck. but then again Wisla had the chance and opportunity to finish off Tottenham but managed to fuck that up

According to PS Leo has put these players in the starting 11 so far Fabianski- Wasilewski, Zewlakow, Dudka, Krzynowek – ?, Lewandowski, Roger, Smolarek – ?,?. Seems obviously fake with Krzynowek in defense, no Blaszczykowski in RM, and no Brozek. Especially with the last two points, there really isnt a rivalry for Brozek in the starting 11. Lewandowski, and Sosin could have a rivalry but I’d prefer Lewandowski. No Blaszczykowski is just a joke, the squad revolves around him now so obviously hes playing.

Lech Poznan can do it. I hope. Arkadiusz Glowacks is a weenie because he loet in an own goal. How fast is the internet in Poland? I told you that there was corruption in the PZPN system. How is Poland doing amidst the financial crisis in America? I hope Tomasz gets good internet at an affordable price so that he can do more blogs.

I was thrilled with Lech win over Austria and I was hearing all this hoopla about how great Lech was playing. On Saturday I was able to get my hands on the torrent with the game and finally I was able to see it.
It was gutsy performance by Lech but it was far away from great. We have to realize that it was only Austria Wieden they played against and that not all look that good. Lech is not ready to compete yet with better teams and there were only few player I could give high notes for this game. Tomek you said that Murawski performance should put him into NT. I can’t disagree more. He was one of the weakest players on the field. Sure he did score in last minute and become a game hero but OMG. Don’t tell me he was any good. I was watching reply last night and he looks slow and he had tons of bad passes and lost balls. The 3 best players for Lech were Lewandowski, Renfigio and Peszko. Reiss is an idiot for trying to force penalty in OT. If he did not take this stupid dive he could score EZ goal. Is this is what he wants to teach younger players? Peszko did the same few minutes later but I can forgive him.
The best part about Lech is their fans. Lech supporters are amazing. I think with that kind of fallowing and big stadium Lech is destined to do great things in near future.
