Jodlowiec Closer To Napoli. Plus Other Transfer Rumours.

Napoli seems really determined to capture Polish national team defender Tomasz Jodlowiec. After two rejected offers (one in the summer and one in the winter) they’ve come up with the third one. After having considered the fact that Jodlowiec wants to stay in Polonia till the end of the season, Napoli offered Jodla to sign the contract now and move to Italy in the summer.

Finally, somebody came up with a solution to the problems surrounding Jodlowiec’s transfer. Polonia’s owner, Jozef Wojciechowski, confirms that such an offer has been made and he’s ready to accept it. The player himself also supports this solution as he’s finally getting mentally ready to leave Poland and test himself on a higher level. As far as I’m concerned, this would be a perfect outcome of this transfer saga. First of all, it looks as if Napoli really believes in Jodla’s abilities; this is not an “out of the blue” transfer as it was with Radoslaw Matusiak’s move to Palermo. Furthermore, during the remaining half a year in Poland Jodlowiec can strengthen his position in the national team and, as a result, come to Napoli as a player of an international status. Finally, this is great news for the Polish national team. Just half a year ago we were wondering who can replace Jacek Bak and Mariusz Jop in the team and there weren’t many candidates. Now we’ve got Adam Kokoszka, who plays regularly in Serie B, Jodlowiec, who’s very close to moving abroad, Piotr Polczak, who has the potential to become the top central defender in the Ekstraklasa and Dariusz Dudka, whose playing position in the national team was changed by Leo after Euros. Moreover, from what I read lately, Grzegorz Wojtkowiak is more likely to feature as a central defender this year. Also, don’t forget players like Bartosz Bosacki, Mariusz Kukielka or Arkadiusz Glowacki, who can always act as a short term solution. Suddenly, Leo’s got many options as far as central defence is concerned.

Other news: Wisla confirms that they’re talking to Maciej Zurawski, whose contract with Larissa ends in the summer. It remains unknown whether Magic comes back to Poland now or in the next transfer window. How soon will we be able to watch the magic trio of Gargula, Zuraw and Pawel Brozek?

Arka Gdynia officially made an offer to loan Sebastian Tyrala from Borussia Dortmund till the end of the season with an option of a permanent deal. Tyrala is interested in the offer but has so far failed to make up his mind. Come on Sebastian, Polish Ekstraklasa is definitely better than the German 4th division.

Jaroslaw Fojut has grown sick of waiting for his chance at Bolton and is considering an offer from Slask Wroclaw. He’s aware that at his age all he needs is a regular play. I think Fojut should leave Bolton as soon as possible, but I always hoped that he would make his name in England, at least at the Championship level.

Sebastian Przyrowski confirmed that he was on a week’s trial at White Hart Lane. We should learn if the transfer goes through in a week’s time. So the answer to my last note is: yes, it’s possible.

Finally, Southampton confirmed that Marek Saganowski will stay with them till the end of the season. The problems regarding Sagan’s high wages can be considered as solved then. I’m really happy about this, obtaining the info about Sagan’s performances in Denmark for the Squad Watch was always a pain in the ass.

^From what I can tell, he’s not very liked by the Bolton manager.
Seems he can’t trust in Ebi.

Ebi is not in the Bolton Squad because he is ill. And he had a great Chance to play today. A lot of Boltons Players are not able to play – they have only 4 Subs. Hope Jaroslaw Fojut will play today.

Damn, I heard Artie Boruc made another howler today… :(

If he’ll go on like this, no club will want to buy him…

Real shame that he always has bad luck during transfer seasons…
He could be stuck with Celtic for the rest of his carreer :(
(It’s not that bad though, Celtic’s still a decent club)

Hopefully Boruc will sort everything out, I count on him :D

ebi is sick, that’s why he didn’t play (http://www.sport.pl/pilka/1,65029,6145266,Smolarek_chory__nie_zagra_z_Arsenalem.html)
bloody bad luck, he would’ve surely got his chance, now that bolton miss many players.

as for jodłowiec I just hope he will manage in italy with the mentality that made him mental reject napoli the first two times

tomasz u mentioned that you have trouble finding out about polish players in the not so easy to find leagues(eg saga in denmark)(or just getting it in english or polish) well i am sure a wise man like yourself knows about this site and i may be like light year behind the rest of you guys on the blog but each weekend i look up all polish players and aussie ones on http://www.soccerway.com if this is old news then so be it but if it helps then great. :) it will not give you a load of info but it will give you the time on the field and if they get a goal or to, for any leagues around the world.

never mind boruc every great goalie has had a blunder or two. your great job at euro 2008 was good enough to forgive you for today. thanks for the info guys on ebi health i was really scraching my head at y he was missing. anyway im going now to enjoy a tyskie

Here’s a small article for all interested in Salamon (it’s in Polish):http://www.sport.pl/pilka/1,73556,6149849,Polski_talent_w_Realu_.html

Salamon confirms that some managers offered him a transfer to real madrid. Brescia’s chief scout says that Salamon is talented enough to play for a big club in the future and should feature reugularly in Serie B this year. The original article is from Super Express, a tabloid, so I’d treat this news with a pinch of salt.

And as for Polish national team kits, I’d wait and see what Nike comes up with.

Polsat Sport is reporting that the Jodlowiec deal is official. He will move in the summer.

On Goal.com the headline was “OFFICIAL: Polish Star Jodlowiec To Join Napoli In June.” I though this was a little funny.

Great to learn about these central defense options; I’m a huge fan of strong defenders. Sorry guys, not easy to keep up from where I am — what is going on for options at left back? Is Bronowicki healthy? Development by Wawrzyniak? Another?

Bronowicki is yet to return for Red Star Belgrade. Wawrzyniak has at least won a regular starting spot at Legia Warsaw. Piotr Brozek and Seweryn Gancarczyk remain the unattested options.
