Drink Team. Boruc, Dudka And Majewski Banned For Drinking.

Not the sort of emotions I expected from the friendly against Ukraine. Artur Boruc, Dariusz Dudka and Radoslaw Majewski are banned from the team as a result of late night drinking after the game. They won’t play in our World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and San Marino.
This is the official statement from Zbigniew Kozminski, Polish FA’s spokesman: Boruc, Dudka and Majewski took part in an alcohol-filled party. This is the reason why they were banned from the team. Polish FA’s discipline department will deal with this case. The players certainly won’t take part in matches against Slovenia and San Marino.
Idiots. That’s the first word that comes to my mind. Don’t get me wrong, everybody has a right to a couple of beers from time to time, even professional footballers. But why drink when your coach clearly stated that he wants you to stay in your room? You just didn’t deserve to party after such a crappy performance against Ukraine. Leo was really pissed off after the game, no wonder he thought there was nothing to celebrate. Even before the news broke out Wyborcza’s Robert Blonski wrote on his blog that players weren’t allowed to leave the hotel at night. Still, they decided to disregard Leo and other teamates.
A good decision by Leo. He must have observed that the discipline in the team is decreasing. Polish national team is not necessarily a place to catch up with your pals (although it doesn’t hurt either) but a place where you should play good football and prepare the best you possibly can. No fooling around lads, that’s a clear message from Leo.
Still, I think that the players will return after the first two games. Hope they’ll learn from this. Or just invite the whole team next time for the sake of raising the morale.

Dunno, to me it seems a bit of an overreaction, they didn’t like trash the hotel room or do anything particularly scandalous.
Honestly, I’m starting to lose patience with Beenhakker. If he was a Polish coach he would have been long gone by now. But since he’s foreign we have to treat him like he’s some sort of god. Whatever.

Come on Beenhakker has done wonders for us just because he lost a friendly to Ukraine isn’t a reason to get rid of him, plus if we go back to Polish coaches (as it should be I think but what the hell Leo rapes) who would be able to have the same quality as Leo? Jan Urban? I don’t think he’ll leave Legia so easily. Henryk Kasperczak? If you thought Leo was old Henryk looks like hes about to die so he wouldn’t last too long at his post. Or maybe you want Boniek to do another 4 month total ass job? Face it the two best qualified Polish coaches are Urban and Skorza but I doubt that they would leave their clubs suddenly.
Well at least the players didn’t get banned from important matches. Fabianski would probably start against San Marino or someone else might even but he proved against Ukraine that he can be called upon so I’m not so worried about no Boruc. Dudka is a bigger blow even tough i prefer him in defense even our midfield will be hurt by the loss, because if Leo wants to keep a DM in our defense its either Murawski (who uber blew against Ukraine, I never even saw him) or Lewandowski. So he will choose Lewandowski to play as a DM and now we have no CD’s at all. Zewlakow could play in that position but Euro I don’t want to hear Zewlakow and CD in the same sentence. So I’m at a loss as to who would play CD after this debacle.

He didn’t just lose this friendly, he also lost qualifying matches against worldbeaters like Finland and Armenia, tied the second match against Finland etc… And he didn’t win a single match at Euros, not even against Austria.
This whole time, I haven’t seen even a bit of improvement in our style of play, we’ve been atrocious, just look at the stats. Even games where we picked up points, possession was like 60% in favor of our opponents, pure dumb luck that we managed to score.

Ok yes the Armenia and Finland games were total shit, but the austria game was bull shit any way so lets not talk about it, I blame the poor performance on Leo’s retarded offside trap. But please tell me who you think would be a better candidate that would actually take the job.

Its nice to see the Polish FA and Beenhakker show some backbone. Don’t get me wrong, the players in question are essential to any success as a team. I just hope that this sends a message to the younger players and gets them to take national football seriously. This shows that rules are in place for a reason and that Beenhakker is in charge. This would not be a big deal if they had already qualified or done something meaningful in the past (like play respectable football at the Euros).
From what I saw on the news, Dudka is denying any involvement.

Ah, silly, something we don’t need right now. I wonder if there’s something happening between Boruc and Beenhakker.

If so we are screwed

The problem is not that the players were drinking, after all none of them was found lying drunk in the streets of Lviv. The problem is that they didn’t listen to Leo and acted like teens on a school trip. The discipline in the team must be kept and Leo just shows who’s really in charge.

I agree that discipline must be maintained but it still seems like a total overreaction, they didn’t do anything really scandalous. Sounds like Leo is on a power trip… But who knows, maybe there’s more to the story.

Wichniarek 3 goals in 2 games, how much goals needed to have a ticket to NT? Who are actually our strikers in better shape than him ? Is it because Leo doesn’t like him? Leo seems to have many individual problems with our NT… I’m affraid because we have to leave or die with him, and actually we look more death than alive….

Wichniarek is haveing a good kick off to the season, no doubt. But at best he’s a short term solution in my opinion. He’s pushing thirty two and that’s past apex for a striker, similar situation to Zuraw. The problem is we don’t have too many alternatives. I hope Jelen gets another go, and Janczyk is brought into the fold. But good for both King Arthur and Blaszczykowski, they both had a good Saturday. Oh, and Jutkiewicz made the bench again for Everton. I’m certain he’ll get a go this season.

Wow. Polish guys drinking. Not exactly news, is it? I think the Polish FA should lighten up. The “Holy Goalie” is top class and he’s good a leader.

Chris put a post on the worldcupblog.org main page saying that Leo said Boruc won’t play with the team while he’s in charge. I feel this is misinformation. It can’t be true.

Kuba made a very good game saturday,(his killer goal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EXWdn-Lztk) I saw this game and he was a dominant player for Dortmund against Bayern, a Bundelsiga top team. Sure that if he will play this way in the Worldcup qualification, we will be in the good way. But we still need a dominant striker, who be able to create some noise. We need a player like Janczyk but with more experience. I think that we need to try him against San Marino, but I think that we also need a top scorer with experience like Wichniarek against Slovenia and Czech Republic. I know that he his old, but he has scored 3 goals in 2 games in a top league, he is actually in top shape so we need him now, as we don’t have many real strikers in the lineup.
Bad news, Smolarek was injured the knee during the friendly match against the Ukraina.
