Breaking News: Poland’s Euro 2008 Squad, First Draft.

As planned earlier Leo Beenhakker announced today an initial squad for the upcoming Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland. Who can already book their holidays for June? Whose dreams are shattered? Which players will experience suicidal thoughts? Are there any surprises? Who has just choked on his bagel while reading the list? What is the meaning of life? Have a look.

Without further suspension here’s the thirty-one! men squad for the Euros:

Just a few quick thoughts as I have to leave for my classes. Biggest surprise? The inclusion of Marek Saganowski and Artur Wichniarek. Biggest absences? No huge surprises but Pawel Brozek and Marek Zienczuk from Wisla will be left disappointed with the outcome. The player that I pity the most? Kamil Grosicki as I think he’d add some extra dribbling abilities to the squad. Roger isn’t included as he’s still to receive the Polish citizenship. I’ll write more about Leo’s decisions later today. Oh, and for the meaning of life; it’s football of course.
