Austria-Poland. Mental Training.
Just as players, fans also need mental preparation before a game. We need to believe that we are better. We need to believe that we’ll party tonight. We need to believe that we’ll reach the stars (or at least get happily drunk). And what can be better to enhance our mood if not watching our last two wins against Austria.
Remember this? Austria-Poland 1:3 after goals from Tata Kaluzny, Jacek Krzynowek and Tomek ‘the Goal Hunter’ Frankowski:
and the game at home, which we won 3:2 after goals from Ebi, Kosa Kosowski and Magic Zurawski:
Now I feel positively hyped before the game. Even though we’ll miss Lukasz Piszczek due to injury (will we have any healthy players for the next game?). On the other hand, Mariusz Lewandowski will almost surely play. The one almost certain change in the first squad is benching Pawel Golanski in favour of Jakub Wawrzyniak or Mariusz Jop. The offensive line will most probably stay the same. Now, where is my Polish scarf….

when this happened?

The games or Piszczek’s injury? The games were part of World Cup 2006 qualifying campaign, whereas Piszczek got injured yesterday in training.

I was surprised that Roger didn’t start in the game vs the Krauts…we all know how Leo feels about him, yet…Then we all saw what he can do once he’s on the pitch, so what gives? Let’s hope he’s out there since the opening whistle…

Germany is currently losing to Croatia and I think that is BULLSHIT. I think Germany is intentionally losing in order to knock Poland and Austria out of the standings. Germany is playing terribly and I think it is on purpose. It’s making me so angry. There’s no way Croatia is good enough to beat Germany unless Germany LETS them win. It’s only the start of the second half right now, hopefully things change quickly and Germany wins.
Polish love from Canada!

I cannot agree with You. Croatia is a really good team and they just proved it. German team is having one of the weakest goalkeepers in the whole tournament, and their defence isn’t that good either. Germany are not intentionally loosing – have You seen loads of yellow and one red card? They just cant take the pressure. Croatia might “help” Poland a bit in being the second team going out from group B. It will all depend on the match POL vs AUS. Btw im happy that Croatia won.

I SAID IT! I told evreyone this game will come down to a a controversial call by the refree and Poland was robbed!

i no longer enjoy watching this sport. the refs call the game how they want it and that’s that. plenty of these games have been completely changed in these games due to inconsistent calls. in a home game, a call like that speaks for itself. no need to say anymore.

I still think Germany intentionally threw the game in order to help Croatia advance. Croatia is definitely a very good team–I never said that they weren’t but I do not believe Germany played anywhere near their best. Even our commentators (in Canada) said something strange was going on. I will laugh if somehow Austria manages to beat Germany and Germany does not advance. Serves them right.

polishprincess -
good-bye. you no longer are part of all this.
