Thanks for the info, I didn't know that. I wonder if any coach would risk taking 2 goalies if there wasn't such a rule.

It's actually in the roster regulations for the tournament. 23 plays of which 3 must be goalkeepers. I'd give a page number but the regulation book is REALLY long. :)

I don't think there's an obligation to take 3 keepers, but nobody will risk taking only two as you'd be in deep shit after one of your goalies is injured or receives a red card. I'm glad you really like the blog M.Zurawski, I hope I'm making it as interesting and entertaining as possible. And I enjoy writing it as much as you enjoy reading it.

This may seem like a silly question, but is it a requirement for the tourney to have three goalkeepers? If so, they yes, while it is unfortunate for Kuszczak, and i like him very much, it is not a tragedy. But if it is not, would it not be more advantageous to have another outfield player as opposed a third goalkeeper?

Also, now that the day is upon us, I really want to thank you Tomasz for all your hard work and informative information. You've really ran a wonderful blog here, at the cost i'm sure of a lot of time that could be used otherwise. So know that i, and everyone else no doubt, really appreciates it. I always look foreword to coming on here and seeing what you've cooked up. Thanks man. And now, let's pray.

TODAY: Turkey shocks Portugal. The Czechs pillage three points off the Swiss. For the Sake of BWIN let is happen! :)
