Alternative Scenarios: What Awaits The Bialo Czerwoni Faithfuls.

So, we’re through with two World Cup qualifying games. We played horrible, but managed to earn four points nevertheless. We’re still in the competition. The two October games against Czech Rep (home) and Slovakia (away) will be the moment of truth for Leo Beenhakker and his team. What are the possible scenarios?
Let’s have a look at what the future may hold for us:
1st scenario: We win both games. Just like two years ago against Portugal the team suddenly starts performing. Leo regains his magic touch, Pawel Brozek turns out to be the answer to all our offensive problems, Jakub Blaszczykowski becomes the true leader of the team, Roger shows Euro like performances. Both Boruc and Dudka fight back to reclaim their status in the team. Everyone is praising Leo for how he managed to turn things round. Players and press once again treat him like a miracle maker. We gain advantage over our rivals that we don’t blow till the end of qualifiers.
2nd scenario: We earn 4 points. Polish team is still in good situation and fights for the first place in the group. The team makes progress and plays a lot better than in the first two games. Young players like Kowalczyk, Wojtkowiak, Bandrowski or R.Lewandowski start to play a more important role and prove that they have international level potential. Leo remains the manager and rebuilds the team spirit. The journalists stop offending the Bialo Czerwoni, but remain sceptical at the same time.
3rd scenario: We earn 2-3 points. Nobody is satisfied with the way the team is playing, but we still manage to get results that keep us in the competition. Most of the fans and media want Leo to resign, but he announces that he’ll stay our manager as long as there’s a chance of qualifying. More experienced players (Blaszczykowski, Boruc, Zewlakow, Dudka, Smolarek) do well, but there’s nobody to add extra quality to the team. Neither Piszczek nor Brozek prove to be the cure for our problems. The situation resembles the one we see today; both Leo believers and Leo haters remain on their positions.
4th scenario: we lose both games or manage one draw only. The level of performance resembles the one we saw in the first games. Players don’t believe in themselves, don’t show a will to fight. Older players just wait for Leo to resign or be sacked and the younger ones are too inexperienced to drive the team forward. Beenhakker loses control over the team completely and resigns from the post. Most of the media welcome this resignation with joy, only some thank Leo for what he did in previous qualifiers. The hunt for a new coach begins, with Henryk Kasperczak and Maciej Skorza leading the pack. The goal is to build the team for Euro 2012. Older players (Krzynowek, Zurawski, Lewandowski, Zewlakow) retire from the national team. A lot of inexperienced, young players are tested by the new manager.
What do you think, which scenario is the most probable? Or maybe you have scenarios of your own? Let me know.
Other news: Ireneusz Jelen didn’t really resign from the national team, he just doesn’t believe he’ll be called up. He knows that he’s not in Leo’s plans. Turns out that it was his manager that wanted him to resign. He achieved just what he wanted: to put some spotlight on his player.
Ebi Smolarek won’t play for Bolton this weekend because of personal problems.
Leo is travelling to Glasgow today to have a word with Artur Boruc. Let’s hope for an honest conversation between those two.

i think the 2nd and 3rd situations are equally as likely… the 3rd of course being worse off for morale. i think the 4th scenario has a much better chance of happening than the 1st scenario, but i can only dream the 1st situation comes through because it would be a dream start in the group stages!
i think the most important part of the article was the sentence or two towards the very bottom of your article. and that is BORUC, this meeting i think could make or break Leo’s stay with us. i think Leo knows this as well, if he could get Boruc behind him then i believe he can get the locker room behind him. i think Boruc and Leo will have a long talk, this is great because it’ll give Boruc a few matches to have this better mindset and get in better form. it’ll also have a more positive mindset going into the next few qualifiers for the entire squad. i applaud Leo’s visit, and can’t see anything going wrong with this meeting. its nice and private, i find it almost unfathomable that this could be a bad thing

Does anyone know why Poland had such a bad start to the euro 2008 qualifying but then managed to play better starting from the home game against Portugal? Maybe this is needed again?

Even after that Portugal game, we rarely played well… I would say in most games we had majors problems keeping possession, playing passing football. I think it was mostly luck and the inconsistency of the other teams that saw us qualify…
We desperately need new blood, players who won’t carelessly lose possession, who know how to take on defenders. And we do have some young players in the pipeline who reportedly have that ability (most notably Janota) but none of them have broken through…
I wish some of those who are not getting playing time would just ask for a loan, it’s possible to make a name for oneself that way too. Even Arsene Wenger likes to use loans as part of the development process of his youth, it doesn’t mean they’re crap and he’s trying to get rid of them, in fact he has loaned out some of his most talented young players.

Janota played for Feyenoord again but only for the last 5 min of the game. Don’t think he really did much

5th scenario I start playing like a Lukasz Podoslki did, and Poland picks me as their left-wing back defender. Then I start playing for Poland, and taking natural supplements. The team realizes that they are deficient in specific supplements. The team plays better. Fish oil makes Artur Boruc think before he drinks that bottle and trashes the hotel.
